Cabaret show
We put on our own Cabaret Show for our senior students usually in July each year. The audience is seated at tables, have a meal and drinks and the students are the live entertainment. It is a great social night for the parents and families and gives the older students an opportunity to experience performing in a different audience environment.
Annual Concert
Our year concludes with a performance involving the entire school. This is a great time of year for everyone with lots of fun and excitement.We perform either a pantomime or musical play, which gives the students the opportunity to sing and act as well as dance. This is another fantastic opportunity to extend their confidence and build on their theatrical performance skills. We have done such shows as, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. With this show we raise money for charity mainly Scope, thus helping those less fortunate than themselves. Over the years we have raised many thousands of dollars.
DCI
Each year we are involved in our third DCI – Dance for Cancer Incentive. At least 50 dancing schools across Melbourne gather together to perform over 2 nights and raise money for cancer. The performances are later shown on Foxtel “Aurora. All funds raised from tickets sales, and merchandise go towards raising money for cancer. All our students who perform and put in the hard yards receive a t/shirt from our school to go towards fund raising and to thank them for their involvement. Our girls put in 6 weeks of hard work learning the routine to perform on the night. Ours teachers donate their time and energy to choreograph and rehearse the routine. The night is always a treat with fantastic entertainment and we are in amongst schools like Patricks and Ministry of Dance. We are proud of our students for committing their time and energy to supporting DCI and to their parents for supporting this cause by attending on the evening and it is something we look forward to being involved in every year.
